Legal translations
Legal translations involve many traps and great difficulties, as not only language barriers but also differences between the legal systems that have evolved over time play a role in this area.
Experts in juridical matters agree that formulations even within one language require the utmost caution, as the the two terms "possession and ownership" as very simple examples show.
When conveying these differences across languages, they must either be explained or translated with the best possible knowledge of the terminology.
Maintaining the external forms of the text (e.g. Article 3, paragraph 4, sentence 2) is a further requirement.
